SEO
Google Adwords Keyword - Set keyword to exact, type it in download results for excel magic. One of the best keyword research tools.
Webmaster Tools - Freaked out by increasing (not provided) data in Google Analytics, don’t be. Webmaster Tools tells you your keywords along with rank and much much more.
Market Samurai - I’ve used this software for years now and it’s one of my favourite ways to find good long tail keywords quick and easy. Highly recommended.
Raven Tools - Raven Tools has helped me with SEO for the last year. It’s a one stop shop for SEO and the amount of features you get is insane. Raven Tools is no doubt one of the best SEO tools on the market. Read my Raven Tools review for more information.
Incapsula – Incapsula has increased my website over 50% with its CDN network and also protects it from bad bots saving me bandwith and money. Read about in my Incapsula review.
WordPress Plugins
I like to use as little WordPress plugins as possible for the simple reason that I don’t want to depend on a developer to keep up with the lastest developments with WordPress. There’s many plugins now that haven’t been updated for over 2 years.
These are the plugins I use and love.
WordPress SEO - For obvious reasons. I love the sitemap that WordPress SEO generates and it’s all you need for SEO from a plugin.
Premise 2.0 - Easily the best WordPress plugin for creating landing pages. I have used this plugin on many websites and find it easy to create an effective landing page. Broken Link Checker - I once had a website doing well in terms of sales, then one week went by and no sales. I later found that all my affiliate links had broke since the merchant changed his website. Lesson learnt. Install broken link checker!
Schema Creator by Raven A nice little plugin for creating Schema Markup.
WP-Optimize - Clears your database tables to help speed up your website. Deletes post revisions, optimises your website server side. I run it once a week.
W3 Total Cache - Speeds up your website. Enough said.
Akismet - Stop spam
Thirsty Affiliates - A handy little plugin which I use for my affiliate links. It saves me time and keeps everything in place. Read Thirsty Affiliate review for more information.
Scribe SEO -Amazing plugin from Copyblogger Media. Scribe SEO helps you when writing content. It basically becoming your writing partner giving you suggestions. Smart plugin.
OptinSkin - Allows you to create pretty email sign up forms which you can A/B spilt test. Amazing plugin to help sign up users to your email list.
WordPress Hosting
Pixeno - has been been my host for the last few years without any trouble. I have tried many host from GreenGeeks, Hostgator but Pixeno blew them away. In terms of cost vs uptime/speed.
WP Engine - One of the best hosting platforms for a WordPress website you can get.
Bluehost – I have various “mini-sites” which I use for affiliate marketing. I know with Bluehost that my hosting is looked after without any issues. I can add as many domains as I wish without further cost.
WordPress Themes
Thesis theme - All my websites are built on Thesis and without any web design knowledge I can built a decent looking website within half a day. Once the learning curve is learnt I didn’t see a reason to move themes. Learn to code
Team Treehouse - For reasons discussed in my Team Treehouse review I thought it was about time to learn to code. Coming from a beginner to programming I found their teaching style very appealing and would recommend this course to anyone serious about learning more about web design and web development. Learn Ruby the Hard Way - A great way to learn Ruby. You’ll be learning from a book and typing over 100 exercises to get yourself familiar with the language. It’s cheap too.
RubyMonk - Another great place to learn Ruby via an interactive platform.
Code School - Another great resource to learn code online. Very helpful for people wanting a career change.
Udemy – A great website to buy individual lessons. Also check out PHP and Ruby but they have loads more even stuff like Yoga.

E-commerce
Shopify – Allows you to create your own SEO optimised online store with ease. Great for some extra money, also great for affiliates as they pay $358 per sale! Check out my Shopify review for more information.
